Adam C. Walmus, FACHE

Adam C. Walmus was appointed Director of the Jack C. Montgomery VA Medical Center (VAMC) on September 4, 2005. He was previously the Associate Director for the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center in Houston, TX.
As Chief Executive Officer, he provides leadership and strategic guidance to this primary and secondary care center that employs over 800 people. The medical center also has 28 active health professional training affiliations including an affiliation with the University of Oklahoma at Tulsa.
The Jack C. Montgomery VAMC serves a 25-county area with approximately 45,000 veterans currently enrolled. The medical center operates an outpatient clinic at the Muskogee facility and community based outpatient clinics in Tulsa and McAlester, OK. Tulsa clinic’s Behavioral Medicine Service moved to a separate, leased location in 2006 due to the expansion of its services and increasing number of patients. The medical center also supports the National Cemetery in Fort Gibson and Tulsa Vet Center.
Walmus obtained his bachelor’s degree from Trinity College in Hartford, Conn. He holds two master’s degrees, one in Health Care Administration from Tulane University, and one in Asian Studies from the University of Michigan. He is a diplomat of the American College of Healthcare Executives and served as a Preceptor and Clinical Adjunct Faculty member of the Health Care Administration Department at the University of Houston-Clear Lake. He is also a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives) and has been appointed to the VA ACHE Regent's Advisory Council.

A. Rudy Klopfer was appointed Associate Director at the Jack C. Montgomery VA Medical Center on January 8, 2006. Mr. Klopfer is responsible to the Medical Center Director for veterans’ health care and services provided by this medical center.
He received his master’s degree in Public Health/Health Services Administration in 1995 from San Diego State University (SDSU) and completed an internship at San Diego’s Children’s Hospital & Health Center. While at SDSU, Mr. Klopfer received the Distinguished Graduating Health Services Administration student award. He received board certification as a Certified Healthcare Executive from the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) in 1998 and became a Fellow in ACHE in 2007. Prior to his master’s degree, he earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Utah in Behavioral Science & Health in 1992.
Mr. Klopfer has been with the Department of Veteran’s Affairs since June 1995. From 1995-96, he served as an administrative fellow at the Canandaigua VAMC in Canandaigua, NY; 1996-2000 as a Health System Specialist and Administrative Director/Geriatrics & Extended Care in San Antonio, TX; 2000-2001 as the Executive Assistant/CEO and COS and Product Line Manager, Clinical Support in Pueblo, CO; 2002-2005 as Chief, Clinical Support Care Line in Las Vegas, NV.
Karen Gribbin, MD

Karen H. Gribbin, MD, was appointed Chief of Staff at the Jack C. Montgomery VA Medical Center on March 16, 2008. Dr. Gribbin is responsible to the Medical Center Director for veterans' health care and services provided by this medical center.
She received her medical degree from the Medical College of Ohio and completed her residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine in Tulsa. Prior to her medical degree, she earned a bachelor's degree in Medical Microbiology from Stanford University.
A Tulsa native, Dr. Gribbin began her career with VA as a staff physician in 1992 at the Jack C. Montgomery VAMC's outpatient clinic in Tulsa. In 1997, she transferred to Medical Service, the inpatient side of health care at the medical center in Muskogee. In 1998, she was promoted to Chief of Medical Service.
Dr. Gribbin is a member of the American College of Physicians and serves as an assistant professor for the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine in Tulsa.
Bonnie R. Pierce, MSN, RN

Bonnie Pierce, MSN, RN, was appointed Associate Director of Patient Care Services at the Jack C. Montgomery VA Medical Center on September 2, 2008. As Nurse Executive, Ms. Pierce is responsible for the clinical and administrative operations of inpatient nursing and for the Nursing Standards of Care and Practice in clinical units throughout the medical center.
Ms. Pierce previously worked as the Associate Chief for Nursing Service's Financial Management Program at the VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System. She also served as the Assistant Chief Nursing Service in Geriatrics and Rehabilitative care. Prior to that, she held positions as Nurse Manager in med/surg and long-term care. As a staff nurse, she worked in almost every area of Nursing - from inpatient to outpatient and from surgery to psychiatry.
Ms. Pierce received her diploma in Nursing from Methodist Hospital School of Nursing, and her Bachelor's and Master's degree in Nursing from California State University Dominguez Hills, located in Carson, CA. Ms. Pierce is actively engaged in pursuit of a doctorate degree in Organizational Change at Pepperdine University in Los Angeles, CA.
