Black History Month Program: Feb. 15

During Black History Month, we remember the courageous men and women who endured past struggles in order to gain the equality we enjoy today.

The Eastern Oklahoma VA Health Care System will host its annual Black History Month program on Feb. 15 at 11 a.m. in the Jack C. Montgomery VA Medical Center auditorium.

The public is invited to attend.

This year's theme is "Black Migrations” and the featured speaker will be Dr. Virginia Schoates, Ph.D., retired teacher and civil rights activist. The program will include a musical performance by the VA Gospel Choir with solo by Charmin Mondaine Brown.

Following the program will be a “Taste of Soul” food sampling. The Jack C. Montgomery VA Medical Center is located at 1011 Honor Heights Dr. in Muskogee.
