The Eastern Oklahoma VA Health Care System (EOVAHCS) awarded a contract to SASD Development Group, LLC. to build a new 140,000-square-foot VA health care center in Tulsa, which will be located at 8921 S. Mingo Rd.

Veterans and the public are invited to attend a groundbreaking ceremony for the new Ernest Childers VA Health Care Center on April 5 at 10 a.m.

EOVAHCS will operate the new facility, which will consolidate all outpatient services for Veterans in Tulsa and allow for more complex services to be offered, such as infusion and mammography.

The health care center is expected to open in June 2021 and will replace the Ernest Childers VA Outpatient Clinic, Tulsa VA Behavioral Medicine Clinic and Tulsa VA Dental Clinic. EOVAHCS will continue to provide inpatient health care at the Jack C. Montgomery VA Medical Center in Muskogee.
