Eastern Oklahoma VA Health Care System
New Moral Injury & Reconciliation Clinic for Women Veterans
May 23, 2018
The Eastern Oklahoma VA Health Care System (EOVAHCS) is starting a new Moral Injury & Reconciliation Clinic for women Veterans beginning June 8, 2018.
Moral Injury is the wounding of the conscience from a traumatic experience such as combat or sexual trauma. Moral Injury may occur when one experiences a traumatic event that conflicts with or violates a core moral value or deeply held belief.
The clinic will be held every Friday from 10 to 11:30 a.m. for 12 weeks at the Tulsa VA Behavioral Medicine Clinic, located at 10159 E. 11th St.
Inner healing is aided by weekly homework exercises, group reflection and the support of other women Veterans who have had similar experiences.
For more information or to register, please contact Chaplain Terri Gast at 918-610-2080 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
In addition to the new clinic for women Veterans, EOVAHCS also offers a Moral Injury & Reconciliation Clinic for both men and women Veterans at the Jack C. Montgomery VA Medical Center in Muskogee, Tulsa VA Behavioral Medicine Clinic and through Tele-mental Health.
Veterans interested in the program can contact Chaplain Carter Check at 918-577-3809 or Steffanie Ward, Chief, Social Work, at 918-577-3310.
