Tulsa Women Veterans Spiritual Retreat

March 30, 2018

Women Veterans are invited to attend a free Spiritual Retreat on April 14, 2018, from 9 am – 2 pm at Canyon Crossing in Sand Springs to relax, refresh and restore. Guest speaker will be Dr. Betty Moseley-Brown, Associate Director of the VA Center for Women Veterans.

Sponsored by the Tulsa Women Veterans Serenity Committee and the Eastern Oklahoma VA Health Care System, the retreat will provide Women Veterans an opportunity to network, learn ways to balance work and home life, as well as deal with residual issues they may be have from their time in service.

“Social support is an integral part of the recovery process as it can serve as a protective factor against the effects of stress, depression, anxiety, and other mental and physical health issues,” said Dr. Patricia Byrd, VA’s Military Sexual Trauma Coordinator. “This retreat is a great opportunity to bring Women Veterans together and increase their overall social connection with one another.”
