VA Medical Center To Hold Grand Re-Opening For Surgery Suite

August 24, 2011

The Jack C. Montgomery VA Medical Center (JCMVAMC) will hold a grand re-opening and ribbon cutting ceremony for the newly remodeled Surgery Suite on Aug. 29.  The ceremony will be held at 1 p.m. inside the Surgery Suite, which is located on the 3rd Floor of Bldg.1.  Refreshments and tours will be provided.

The $3.2 million renovation project occurred from May 2010 to August 2011 and provides the medical center with five state of the art operating rooms.

“This gives us a modern, 21st Century Surgical Suite which our Veterans deserve,” said Brian Hawkins, medical center director.  “It will not only be better for the patients, but it will also help us recruit and retain surgeons, because our surgeons have the best equipment to work with.”

During the renovations, JCMVAMC conducted surgeries in two Mobile Surgery Units.  In 2010, JCMVAMC performed more than 4,000 surgeries.

The facility is located at 1011 Honor Heights Dr.  For more information, please contact Nita McClellan at (918) 577-3704.
